Join us on May 3^rd for a live performance by talented musicians, Courtney Bryana and Brandee Younger as part of Alice Coltrane: Legacy and Inspirations from 5:30-7:30pm in the A.J. Drexel Picture Gallery (3141 Chestnut Street, 3^rd Floor, Main Building). Following the performances, Geroge Starks, our esteemed Music Professor and Director of Drexel’s Jazz Ensembles, will participate in a panel discussion with artists and scholars exploring issues represented through Coltrane’s music and legacy including spirituality, gender, race, diaspora, and her impact on American music. 

Alice Coltrane was an uncompromising pianist, harpist, organist, composer, and bandleader, who spent the majority of her life seeking spiritually in both music and her private life. This event will pay homage to Alice’s music and legacy through a live performance of her work, original compositions for musicians who have been inspired by her, and a panel discussion.
